SPOT-it™ Screening Kits are screening products for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), agammaglobulinemia (XLA) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in newborns.
SCID and XLA screening is performed by semi-quantitative detection of TREC and KREC, while qualitative detection of exon 7 of the SMN1 gene is used for SMA screening.
The tests are based on the analysis of DNA isolated from dried blood drops followed by rtPCR and are designed for a high number of samples without the need to use expensive machines.
The products are compatible with the QuantStudio 5/QuantStudio 5 Dx instrument and are CE-IVD certified.
