The niPOC (Non-invasive Product of Conception) test is an advanced non-invasive genetic test that uses a blood sample from the mother to determine whether a miscarriage was caused by a chromosomal abnormality.
What does the niPOC test detect?
The test analyzes 24 chromosomes and identifies:
Aneuploidy – Changes in the number of chromosomes (e.g., trisomy).
Deletions and duplications – Loss or gain of chromosomal fragments.
Ploidy alterations – Haploidy, triploidy, tetraploidy.
Tissue origin – Determines whether the sample is of fetal or maternal origin through microsatellite STR analysis.
How is the test used?
Advantages of the niPOC test
Non-invasive: Only a blood sample from the mother is required, eliminating the need for surgical tissue collection.
High informativeness: Results of fetal origin are obtained in >85% of cases, significantly higher than traditional methods.
Quick results: Results are available in a short time, usually within 7–10 working days.
No contamination by maternal cells: The analysis is capable of detecting the presence of maternal cells and excluding their impact on the results.
Suitable for early pregnancies: The test is recommended from the 5th week of pregnancy.
Who should consider this test?
Women after miscarriage: The test is suitable for any woman who has experienced a miscarriage, especially those who have had multiple miscarriages or undergone assisted reproduction.
Before planning another pregnancy: It helps identify possible genetic causes of previous miscarriages, which can inform decisions about future pregnancies.
