eazyplex® PneumoBug expert is a ready-to-use, lyophilized in vitro diagnostic kit designed for rapid identification of nucleic acid from selected bacterial respiratory pathogens directly from clinical respiratory specimens — without prior DNA extraction.
The PneumoBug expert assay detects key atypical causes of community-acquired pneumonia, including:
Chlamydia pneumoniae
Mycoplasma pneumoniae
Legionella pneumophila (including relevant serogroups)
These organisms are frequently implicated in atypical pneumonias that may not be easily distinguished clinically from other respiratory infections and where rapid identification can support appropriate therapy.
Based on isothermal LAMP amplification for fast and specific detection of pathogen DNA.
No DNA extraction required — sample can be processed directly after minimal pretreatment.
Results are displayed in real time and summarized after approximately 25 minutes.
